Japanese classics, American muscle and a blue Zonda to finish. A day on the road with Torq Tour, seen through the SLAM lens.

The day started at the Nissan & Datsun Museum, with enough inside to keep me wandering before the tour had even begun. A 300ZX, a Nissan President and the little yellow 100NX were all part of the mix. Outside, the rally cars were gathering: Subarus, Audis, a pink Nissan and an orange Fast & Furious tribute Supra. Then the engines started and the cars rolled through the start gantry, with flames overhead. Time to follow them.

Our next stop took us into the world of classic car restoration, where the workshop was open and there was as much to look at inside as out. Older cars, tools and the details of work in progress made a good change of pace before we headed back onto the road for rolling shots. Then came the private Corvette collection. Room after room, another building, and more cars upstairs. I kept saying I had never seen so many early Corvettes together. With C1s, C2s and C3s through to newer machinery, it was the sort of place that deserves a return visit.

We finished at Prins Classics, where the tour cars gathered outside and there was still plenty waiting indoors. Oscar’s yellow Camaro and the orange Supra had already given me reasons to stop with the camera, but the blue Pagani Zonda was the one I kept coming back to. Alongside a Testarossa and Countach, it was quite a finish. The bodywork caught my eye first, then the smaller details, right down to the aluminium window controls. From a Datsun in the morning to a Zonda in the afternoon, with good people and plenty of cars in between. That is a day worth taking the camera out for.

These are the frames I brought home from Torq Tour 2026. Camaro, Corvette or Zonda: which one would you take the keys to?
